The movie nights on the banks of the river Elbe are possibly the most beautiful Open-Air cinema- and concert-festival in Europe. Germany’s oldest christmas market is within the centre of the hustle and bustle of Christmas time. An accessible Schwibbogen (decorative candle-arch) from the Erz Mountains, the biggest with a width of 13.4 metres and a height of 5 metres, ornaments the entrance area. In the show workshops you have the oportunity to look behind the scenes of the traditional Dresden Christmas stollen making. The world’s largest Erz Mountain step pyramide rotates on a prominent spot. A world of experience with a lot of fun, entertainment, opportunity to do crafting and of course Father Christmas awaits the young visitors of the Striezelmarkt. Capture the flavour of Christmas with gingerbread, roasted almonds and mulled wine.
